Yellow Productions Presents. Eight things to know before you go to Kyushu in Japan. I'm Chris, my traveling panda Topher, it's too cold for him right now. It's like -5 degrees Celsius today, but we're out here braving the cold to tell you everything you need to know if you're planning a trip to Japan's most Southwesterly island, Kyushu. (upbeat light techno music) Kyushu is a paradise for nature, that's why I'm out here in Yufuin at this (speaks in foreign language) town.
There's this bridge, it goes over the stream. There's these trees, there's this mountain. So this is what you come to Kyushu for. Also the population of Kyushu, 13 million across the island. Fukuoka, kind of the biggest city. It can seem like a little Tokyo. Kyushu literally means nine provinces, but there's only seven left of them today and it has an interesting location in that Kyushu is closer to Korea and China than it actually is to Tokyo https://uscasinosguide.com/latest-casino-bonuses/. So you'll find lots of international visitors in Kyushu. It's quite mountainous, as you know as we are in the mountain region. Mount Aso that's in the middle of Kyushu is Japan's most active volcano, and so that leads us into hot springs. The second thing to know before you come to Kyushu is about (speaks in foreign language), or hot springs. Kyushu is often referred to in Japan as the land of fire because it has the most hot spring volcanic discharge of any region in Japan. Right here, this is a discharge in Beppu, it is the self-proclaimed capital of hot springs in Japan. And the water that comes out of here came from an explosion of a volcano 1200 years ago and you can actually hear it boiling in the background and the steam is truly impressive. And so if you're coming to Kyushu, make sure you check out the hot springs. If you just wanna look at them, you can come to Beppu. There's like seven of these different things that you can look at but I'd suggest you check out a hot spring hotel. A couple of ones that we've stayed in are in Kurokawa, Japan and in Yufuin. They're more classic (speaks in foreign language) towns, so maybe check out an (speaks in foreign language) in one of those areas. I guarantee you'll enjoy it. If you wanna know more about how to (speaks in foreign language), you can check out a link in the description below, or I've also got a video on my best (speaks in foreign language) hotels that I've stayed at in Japan and in Kyushu too. The third thing to know if you're coming to Kyushu is about getting to Kyushu, and if you're getting to Kyushu chances are you'll be coming through Fukuoka. Fukuoka's the main transport hub, that's where most of the trains and planes come through. If you are coming from further than Tokyo, you should take a plane. Fukuoka also, like flying, is really inconvenient to get to a lot of the other airports. So Fukuoka's a place where most people fly. If you're coming from Osaka or closer, take the bullet train into Fukuoka and then you can take trains around. If you are trying to come from Tokyo, it takes five hours and 40 minutes by the bullet train. That's a long time. Your other option, you could take a ferry from Korea, from Busan here to Kyushu.

THE MOST USEFUL ETHIOPIA TRAVEL TIPS Part 1: Phone, Internet, Cheap Flights, Customs Part22/27/2019 It's also 220 volts so remember that. I fried a device when I was out there. all right so for power it's this style, two prong round. this converter I really like, it's got two USB chargers, they're like both one amp and you can see that I got a surge protector here just for convenience but I don't actually carry it around with me. I brought it to my first first leg of my trip. if you have something like this where it plugs on different sides it's just as useful. this little piece I would attach to the power splitter okay so let's talk about customs now so it's fairly well known that Ethiopian customs is fairly strict. if you're bringing two laptops or two computers, you're likely gonna get taxed on one of them you can probably bring in two cameras and two phones but the laptop thing is kind of iffy.
Funny enough, when I got into Ethiopia I didn't get checked by customs so it's hit and miss. okay so let's talk about flights specifically cheap flights. Now you pretty much have to fly into Ethiopian Airlines if you want to take cheap flights locally because by flying into Ethiopian Airlines you automatically get a 30% discount or more on any local flights within Ethiopia so you actually won't see this deal on their website. You have to go into an Ethiopian Airlines office and make all your bookings but show your boarding pass your ticket into the country and they'll give you that discount. once again if you want to make these bookings, show up to the Ethiopian Airlines office early because line ups can get long and service is pretty slow. so just an example on how cheap a flight can be, I flew from Addis Ababa to Lalibela for only $30 one-way and you definitely want to fly there because the area's really mountainous and taking a bus, I think it'd be impossible sometimes. Even taking a Bajaj / tuk-tuk from Lalibela to the Lalibela airport was a really rough ride as for Ethiopian Airlines it's kind of hit or miss. internationally, Ethiopian Airlines is really nice but locally, kind of a mess. so here's one incident so I was leaving me'kele after doing a visit to the denakil desert. I showed up to the airport maybe about 45 minutes before I was supposed to take off and the airplane already took off, like just they just left according to the staff at the front. so I'm here in me'kele airport and I missed the flight about three hours ago. I showed up about an hour early but the flight took off half an hour earlier than usual and when I showed up, I was actually waiting in the line with no agents working so they were kind of really useless. they told me to just like show back up in the line like an hour later which I did and there was a humongous line, just like fighting for flights, total chaos. fortunately I was able to call head office, rearrange my flights. my flight was done pretty cheap, I was able to change it for 15 bucks and so I take off tomorrow. It was a nightmare trying to re-book. everyone's just bombarding the counter in fact just the local counter it was kind of a mess. People aren't really lining up and it's just like a crowd gathering around the counter funny enough I booked for a flight the next day and the flight was delayed for an hour and a half. okay so now it's ten minutes before my flight you can see it's pretty packed here in the boarding area they haven't boarded the flight yet things are running slow I'm gonna take a wild guess and I'm gonna guess that yesterday my tickets were given away to people on the waiting list. You see the time is 3:05 which is 9:05 a.m. in western time and now we're finally boarding to going on to Ethiopian Airlines so it's boarding late and security only stopped ten minutes ago, so they were still letting people in which I don't understand why I didn't get on to the plane yesterday when I was an hour early. I never get tired of boarding a plane on the tarmac though. so another good thing to note on Ethiopia Airlines is got to get the earphone converter. Just get one on Ali Express or eBay so you can convert your headphones to the dual plug. so my recommendation just show up two hours before a flight no matter what. I can tell this video is very long so I'm gonna break it off here but make sure you click the link in the end screen to get to the second part and that's when I'll be talking about things such as toilets, showers, laundry ,vaccinations and useful gear to have and if you found that this video helped please click the like button, subscribe. If you haven't and leave a comment below Hi, my name is Jesse and I'm on a quest to face all my fears and learn as many skills as possible. THE MOST USEFUL ETHIOPIA TRAVEL TIPS Part 1: Phone, Internet, Cheap Flights, Customs Part12/27/2019 Hey everyone so the episode I made on Ethiopia's transportation and getting around was really useful for many of you and so today I'm gonna continue on that theme I'm gonna give you some really useful tips that many travelers may not know when going to Ethiopia.
So I'm going to break down phone, internet, electricity, toilets,, cheap flights, you name it, I'm gonna try to cover it. Okay so the first thing I want to cover is phone. most of us are pretty addicted to our phones so if you don't want to be jumping from Wi-Fi hotspot to Wi-Fi hotspot then you can get a SIM card in Ethiopia and it works with your unlocked phone. So Ethiopia's phone network is a monopoly, I believe it's government-owned. it's called Ethio telecom the catch is you have to line up an Ethio telecom to get your sim card so bring your passport, show up early to the office if you can because the line ups can be grueling. but it's a fantastic deal because for 30 birr which is about two bucks. you get 300mb which for most people it's useful for maybe doing an Instagram post a day and just communicating on chat apps with friends and family. after you use up that three hundred mb then you just have to refill by buying any of those refill cards that you find on the streets. There are guys on every street corner selling them, it's literally everywhere, I don't remember how much data you get because the usage is split up based on what you use it for, so you just got a fixed amount in the card and then as you make calls, text messages, and use data then it just slowly drains away that amount. relatively speaking I guess for foreigners it's not too expensive but relatively speaking for the average Ethiopian, data is super expensive. now Ethio Telecom is a government monopoly and Ethiopia has been having some troubles in recent times so you'll find that a lot of social media networks are blocked like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Whatsapp. I found that the Asian chat apps such as LINE or Weibo seemed to have no problem so you might want to consider using those instead. otherwise you gotta get a VPN so I recommend that you use a VPN service that has an app for your phone as well as one for your PC or your laptop. I'll dig up the one that I use and I'll put a link to it in the description. and for the VPN it's likely that it won't have server in the country so you'll most likely be connecting to a server in a nearby country. some are not nearby so you'll likely connect to.... I found Kenya wasn't very reliable if you connect to a server in Egypt or South Africa it's a little better. so if you need to get some real stuff done and you're gonna have to landline internet if you're staying at Hotel then you're set since most hotels have it otherwise if you're staying somewhere else then you just have to go to a hotel, buy a coffee or breakfast and just use their internet. I ended up spending a lot of time at jupiter hotel which is a pretty popular place for foreigners to use the internet. alternatively, to really get a lot of stuff done there's also a co-working space i know that recently opened up. next electricity. So Ethiopia uses the two-prong european-style plug so make sure you have an adapter If you forget, I'm sure you can buy one in the market. I'm gonna start this off I'm go ahead and give away three cram that Crimson web minimal wear (good boi) so if you want to enter just subscribe like the video and comment your trade url to enter and I'll pick the winner for the giveaway in five days, so yeah If you want to chance at winning one of these really rare knives( I WANT!) I didn’t know what to expect from the story because the trailers really didn’t give much away. What I got was a beautiful, emotionally gripping tale of two very different people finding their way together, both literally and figuratively.
There were several moments For years, Pixar Animation Studios has established themselves as the premier source of entertainment in the animation genre. Rarely ever misfiring, the studio has been able to warm the hearts of fans through more than just silly sight gags and talking animals that don’t make any sense. Now this is not to say that I have loved everything that they have ever done. I thought the sequel to Toy Story was a big disappointment, Cars was very average and I was extremely let down by last year’s Wall-E (I know, I’m in the minority there). However, they have wowed me with such great films as Toy Story, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc. and Ratatouille that seeing Up was an absolute must for me. I am here to tell you that Up just might be the best film Pixar has ever released. It was the best film I have seen this year, and it really isn’t even clothroughout the film that made your heart just sink. This was countered with the moments that were so sweet they could melt the cruelest of hearts. I completely lost it at the end of the film. It is a great accomplishment when you forget that what you are watching is a cartoon, and these characters are just images on a screen. I felt something so real for the characters of Russell and Carl Fredricksen, in a way that only Pixar can pull off. I did see the film in 3D, but I feel like it really wasn’t necessary. The film would have been just as good in 2 dimensions. There weren’t a ton of situations where the 3D was used as a gimmick, and with this film, it is clear why. If you want to save the money and see it on a 2D screen, I would suggest doing it. The film would be visually stunning either way. Now, the film did have its flaws. They came when it seemed to get away from the Pixar formula. The film did have quite a few more sight gags and childish humor than we are used to from the studio. Some of these worked and were quite funny, but others simply did not. However, they did not let the film lose its sense of direction and quickly got back to the heart of what made this film great, the story and its central characters. This is the first film I have seen this year that I have wanted to go back to theater and watch again. It will be a heavy contender for best film of the year (it will have some stiff competition from that robot movie you may have heard of) and it is my first 5-star review. I urge you to go see this film. Bring your kids, bring your significant other, bring your parents, but especially, bring a box of tissues because this one is going to grip your heart rather forcibly. Another masterpiece from the geniuses at Pixar, and a breath of fresh air for me after being let down by Wall-E, Up gets a much deserved 5 / 5 stars. Writing good movie reviews is a problem for you, isn't it? Improve your writing skills with Robot Don text checker.
Pixar's latest entrance into the category of "Our cartoons are Better than Your Art Film" is epic in every sense of the word. The story seems so simple and universal and yet resonates with depth. A lonely, grumpy widower named Carl decides to float his house away from civilization using helium balloons and go on the journey that he and his wife had planned for years. The everyday problems of life never gave them the opportunity, the time, or money to fulfill this dream. A young "wilderness explorer" stowaway named Russell joins him on his journey to South America and Paradise Falls. To say that the animation was great is an understatement. Pixar IS animation. They have been leading the industry since Toy Story smashed on the scene on 1995. I was never a huge fan of these animated movies. I loved The Incredibles because it was about superheroes, I liked Ratatouille, I loved Wall-E and now with Up, I must admit that I am now a huge fan. There was no downside at all to this film; no boring, overly-explained beginning, no dragging middle part, no anti-climatic ending. This movie was incredible (heh) from start to finish. The story, dialogue, and action was all simply perfect. You laughed, you cried, and you journeyed along with these characters. During the movie I felt completely immersed in the story and I was swept along with Carl and Russell. The 3D environment certainly did not hurt this aspect of the film. The voices were spot on. Ed Asner gave Carl a depth that would not be possible for a lesser actor and Jordan Nagai, in his film debut (or at least his voice) was great. I would not be surprised to see a long list of credits for this young man in his future. Bob Peterson is a seeming wunderkind with a co-director, writer, and voice actor credit for the movie. He is the Kevin Smith of the animation world. LOL If you did not laugh your butt off at Alpha's voice when he first appears, you don't know funny. This was my very first 3D movie (I know, I know) and I was astounded at how unbelievably cool it was to watch in 3D. I flinched several times until I got used to seeing objects flying at my face. That was part of the fun in seeing this movie. The three-dimensional aspect really brings you into the story as it appears that you are literally in the scene. Seeing normal 2D animation will seem so 1990s from now on. (Just kidding, kind of.) If you are a Pixar fan then you will not be disappointed in this movie. If not, go see it anyway because not many "real" films can match the heart or depth of this story. I cannot imagine watching this film repeatedly and not tearing up or laughing out loud at several points again and again. Simply put, Pixar is making movies that are groundbreaking today and will be viewed decades from now for the story and that is really all you can ask of any studio, real or animated. 5 / 5 stars |
